Caravana Migrante Updates: Train Kept A Rollin All Night Long - Oscar Chacon & Ana Gamboa Interview on Democracy Now ! - More Reckless Threats & Lies From Trump and Pence RE Caravana Migrante - Tijuana Prepares For The Migrante Arrival - At 11:28 am Zeta Reports 9 More Executions in TIJ; YTD Total in TIJ = 2,018 People Dead

Up first are the latest lies from Vice President Pence regarding the Caravana Migrante which are based on here say and from the lips of the most sickening and corrupt President of Honduras Juan Orlando Hernandez. Where is the evidence ? Within the report are the lies from Trump regarding MS-13 & Middle Eastern Terrorists within the migrating group. After the report are links to Aristegui which highlights the march.  We were not here yesterday, actually we were at Immigration in TIJ.

From Aristegui Noticias:

Caravana de Migrantes Organizada Por " Grupos Izquierdistas" Y "Financiada" Por Venezuela, Dice Pence
Por, Ricio Munoz-Ledo - 10/23/18

Pasted for you:

Caravan of migrants, organized by "leftist groups" and "financed" by Venezuela, says Pence

The US vice president said that the only solution is "a Congress willing to finance the wall, to secure our borders and also close the gaps used by traffickers and criminal gang members ... to encourage people to make the long and dangerous journey" .

The migrant caravan is being promoted by leftist Honduran groups financed by Venezuela to challenge the sovereignty and the US border, said US Vice President Mike Pence on Tuesday.
"The president of Honduras (Juan Orlando Hernández) told me that (the caravan) is organized by leftist groups in Honduras financed by Venezuela and sent north to challenge our sovereignty and challenge our border," he said at a forum organized by The Washington Post
Pence stressed that the Donald Trump administration is working closely with Mexico to resolve what it called a "crisis." "We will do everything possible to prevent this caravan from coming north and violate our border," said the vice president.

However, he maintained that "in the last analysis it is an issue in our elections because what people traffickers are doing, what members of criminal gangs are doing ... is to take advantage not only of our porous border , but of gaps in our laws ".

Pence said that the only solution is "with a Congress that is willing to finance the wall , to secure our borders and also close the gaps used by people traffickers and criminal gang members ... to encourage people to make the long and dangerous journey "
The United States holds elections on November 6 to renew the 435 seats in the House of Representatives and 35 seats in the Senate. Surveys show that Democrats enjoy an advantage over Republicans to regain control of the House.

"We have a crisis in our southern border and the only way we can deal with that crisis in the long term is by making changes in the laws," he said.

On Trump's statements in which he affirms that people from the Middle East infiltrated the caravan from Honduras to the United States, Pence said that the "statistics" show such a thing.

"It is inconceivable that there are no people of Middle Eastern descent," said the US vice president.
He also noted that voters have a "clear choice" during the election: "Democrats support arrest and release, have opposed the wall , have opposed more efforts to comply with domestic law ... The Republican Party is committed to building the mur or, committed to close the gaps, to end the detention of liberation and reform a broken system of migration, "he said.

 - Regarding Pence's outrageous referral to President Juan Orlando Hernandez of Honduras as being a credible source of information, here are just some examples of what Hernandez is capable of - and it is not truth seeking by a longshot:

"...Demonstrators were out on the streets to protest against the presidency of Juan Orlando Hernandez (JOH), whom they and several organizations accuse of stealing last November’s presidential elections from Salvador Nasralla of the Opposition Alliance coalition.

Protesters say the Hernandez administration and other government officials committed fraud in order for the incumbent to take last year's presidential election.

Between late November 2017 and January of this year, over 30 anti-JOH protesters were killed, which Honduran human rights organization, Cofadeh, said were killed at the hands of state security forces. Protests against the current president, who has U.S., Mexico, and Canadian support, have been sporadic since January for fear of military and police retaliation.

Hernandez and his political party - National Party - are also allegedly connected to several government corruption scandals.

At Saturday’s protests, journalists from canal UNE-TV were also attacked."

Central Americans could arrive in BC in 20 day

Central American migrants who are in transit could reach Baja California in an approximate time of 20 to 25 days, according to José María Lara, coordinator of the Juventud 2000 shelter in Tijuana.
The shelters, added Lara, are currently facing an occupation of 70% of their capacity, given that they continue to receive migrant connats and small groups of foreigners, but without resources.

For this reason, Youth Hostel 2000 was the stage for the Migrant Alliance, which brings together various associations that help migrants, to issue a manifesto dedicated to the authorities, requesting their support in the face of the arrival of more displaced people from their places of origin. .
The manifesto in general requests that they be guaranteed respect for their human rights to Central American migrants, as well as actions that prevent them from being criminalized in their transit through the country.

"The people of Central America are fleeing from violence and poverty. He only comes looking for the shelter of the United States, to be able to start a dignified life that they can not have in their countries of origin, "said Lara.

The migrant caravan left Honduras a few weeks ago with the goal of reaching the northern border between Mexico and the United States to apply for humanitarian asylum to the government of Donald Trump, on their way to our country they were added to become a group of more than 6 thousand Honduran, Salvadoran and Guatemalan migrants.

  - According to Governor Kiko, between the hostels of Mexicali and TIJ, there are only 650 spaces to provide shelter for the migrantes.  At this point, there has been no official DOA of migrantes to Tijuana.  At best, if there is a flood of people as THERE WERE WITH THE HAITIANS, THE LEVELS OF GOVERNMENT WILL HAVE TO COLLABORATE WITH THE PRIVATE CAREGIVERS:

UPDATE: Caravana Migrante ! Aristegui Reports 5K On the March - NO TrumpYou Idiot, MEXICO DOES NOT RESPECT YOU ! - 2K + Dead In Drug War TIJ YTD - Reuban & Carmen's House Hit Last Night SADM

Neville Chamberlain & Adolph Hitler 1938

Was Mexico's reaction in sending the Federal Police to hold back the migrantes on the Guatemalan-Mexico border an act of appeasement?  Appeasement as ya'll know is, "...diplomatic policy of making political or material concessions to an aggressive power in order to avoid conflict." All that I can say because as a foreigner living here, I am not allowed to comment on Mexican politics (oh shit, I could be deported and end up homeless, worse yet confined to a holding tank at San Ysidro POE.)
But you have to acknowledge the similarity between Trump and Hitler and the fact that the USA has always been an aggressive power worldwide specifically in both Latin and South America.

Back in 2016 I blogged this article by the great writer Charles Pierce who went on to my dismay of actually voting for Hillary instead of throwing in for Jill Stein.  None the less, worth another read - more material on USA's sordid past which have you noticed the USMSM is NOT talking about at all?
This isn't "fake" news - this is factual history:

Why Is Hillary Clinton Bragging About This Endorsement ?

Proceso added this headline yesterday, and the general feeling I am observing is that yes, people (at least my Mexican neighbors) are thinking the USA snaps it's fingers and Mexico jumps:

This Sunday from an early hour began the mass exodus of some 5 thousand members of the Migrant Caravan in Mexican territory to Tapachula, Chiapas. No level of government is assisting thousands of migrants with humanitarian assistance, security, health, or food support. They are citizens who have given themselves to the task of distributing bags with water and some food.
The long line occupies about 6 kilometers of the Pan-American Highway . Those who bring their young children with them, stop for a while at the edge of the road to rest and regain strength to continue their long walk.

The delegate of the National Institute of Migration in Chiapas, Francisco Echavarría, warned that those who are under the process of immigration, should remain in the state of Chiapas and the refuge to which they were confined until their legal situation is resolved, however rejected that are "detained."

For his part, the Fifth Visitor of the National Human Rights Commission, Édgar Corzo, declared that what has been seen "is a lack of humanitarian assistance, we have seen it on the bridge, lack of medicines, people were fading (... ) I believe that they concentrated a lot on restraint and left aside what we consider to be primary that is humanitarian assistance "and reiterated that in this situation, consideration is being given to the extension of precautionary measures requested from Saturday to attend humanitarianly to the migrants, now, in the shelters.

Faced with the weariness and wear to which the Mexican government bet when trying to contain and drop the members of the caravan of migrants coming mainly from Honduras, since the evening of Saturday night people threw themselves massively from the border bridge to the Suchiate River, others spent swimming from shore to shore or on rafts and with children in their arms in the same way.

Many of them had spent more than 24 hours without food and there was no water to distribute between them, the temperature was around 32 degrees Celsius. The desperation made them take the desperate decision to pass even though the formal entrance of the border was closed and passing little by little to the migrants to lead them to process their visas or to start their refugee process.

The fear of falling from nine meters high was less than the fear of being deported to their countries of origin, to face the violence of the gangs, poverty and in general, the lack of a dignified future. Crossing the river involved swimming half a kilometer, and by raft, having five quetzales - Guatemalan currency equivalent to about 12 Mexican pesos - for the rafters. The rafts are actually tractor rim cameras on which planks are laid.

By late afternoon this Saturday, more than 80 percent of those who make up the migrant caravan that left on October 13 of Honduras -and to which migrants from El Salvador and Guatemala were adding- already spent the night in the park of Ciudad Hidalgo Chiapas
For 24 hours the Mexican authorities succeeded . In that period, counted since closing the doors, the migrants remained on the Rodolfo Robles international bridge. There they slept, there they got up and there they began to write their personal data on some sheets of paper, so that "in an orderly manner and in groups of 40", they would pass before the personnel of the National Institute of Migration (INM).

The Mexican government offered them that, after completing the process, they would take them to shelters, where they would wait for the immigration ruling. By 12 on Saturday, only 500 people had passed , according to figures reported by the Ambassador of Mexico in Honduras, Luis Manuel López Moreno.

"First women and children, first women and children," shouted some spontaneous organizers who emerged among the migrants.

The national security commissioner of Mexico, Renato Sales Heredia, and the commissioner general of the Federal Police, Manelich Castillas Craviotto, came to where the migrants , bars and dozens of police officers were. They spoke with some while their subordinates took photographs where they appeared with friendly faces. They sent water jugs and, for a moment, immigration agents and the police, behind bars, served water to the migrants.

The arrival of Sales Heredia and Castillas Craviotto, explained his subordinates, was to "monitor that everything was developing with attachment to the rights of migrants, and Mexican laws."
For its part, the government of Guatemala installed in the central park of the border city Tecún Umán, a center of attention with a big legend that says: "Do you want to return to your country? Here we support you. Immigration Information. Institutional Information". Some migrants did choose this option.

According to official figures, only 381 migrants - almost all women and children - made their registration with the INM, after which they were transferred to the shelter located in the facilities of the Mesoamerican Fair of Tapachula, about 30 kilometers from Ciudad Hidalgo. But if your visa or refuge requests are rejected, they will be deported to their country of origin."

Mexico City. The Secretariat of Navy-Navy of Mexico (Semar) deployed around 300 sailors to the border with Guatemala to provide humanitarian aid to the thousands of migrants, mostly Hondurans, who seek to cross into Mexican territory.

Dependency officials reported that the sailors perform work in shifts of 30 elements who provide food, water and medical attention to those who remain waiting to continue moving forward.
For them, they installed a mobile kitchen to have the capacity to provide food to the migrants who are in the border point of Suchiate, in Ciudad Hidalgo, Chiapas.

According to the commanders consulted, food aid and water supply are several tons to have the ability to provide migrants who hope to continue their way to the United States or stay in Mexico as refugees.

Locally All Is Not Well....

Trump is a laughing stock down here, no one respects him, what a joke.  I'll be back with those links...meanwhile, the drug war continues non stop here.

 - Yesterday early Frontera reported 126 executed this month in Tijuana, giving the YTD total just in TIJ at over 2,000 people killed. Within the report are the month totals for TIJ since January, so they did a lot of work on this, adding that now TIJ is ranked the number one city in Mexico for violence.  Of course since that early morning report, there have been more killed, more in Rosarito and Ensenada.  Will return at some point with those figures - nothing really noticible in Rosarito other than people seem to be laying low.  Also, when you are at Frontera, check out Portada and Editorials - also they have a special segment going on the Migrantes. I have to give Paris  bath.

From Frontera:

Suma Tijuana Mas de 2 Mil Homicidios Durante 2018

 - SADM:  Reuban and Carmen's house (two houses to our north) was broken into yesterday early evening while they were at a birthday party in Rosarito. They returned home around 8:30pm to find Luther, their special baby doggie drugged (poor Luther he is 13 yrs old and suffering from arthritis) , the house slightly ransacked, all credit cards stolen and jewelry stolen and their brand new car stolen out the brand new garage Reuban built, the front door of the house was kicked in.  Obviously, someone knew exactly when they left.

We saw lights below us around 9:00pm and thought the Cubans were having a party, but no it was a police unit. About 20 minutes after the police left, I heard whistling below us.  We thought it strange that their brand new car was simply driven out the through the guarded gates.

Also, Pete's garden area that he created was torn up and destroyed.  Oh, and when the Tijuana water finally came back on here I watered my little geraniums and now they are all dead . What a disaster. Jeez, no wonder the migrantes do not want to stay in Mexico.

So just a heads up, SADM is really a weird place.  Paris wants to leave...but I don't have the paperwork for Daca Bob & Susie Q.

Pacific Daylight Time

Yesterday I finished the blog around 6:30pm, came back at about 11:30pm to add some more links and as I was editing, the entire blog just vanished. So, we'll try to pick up the pieces and BTW, it has been the Mexican News sources who have been covering the Caravana Migrante  for weeks, finally the US MSM jumped in very late in the evening...and with no explanations of why this is happening, so let's do a little refresher course:

Bolsonaro's Twin Brother

Good basic summary of historical events. Of course the US government will not address these issues, instead, today Trump called the migrantes "criminals".

Yesterday, La Jornada's Elio Henriquez reports a growing distrust of the migrantes towards the Mexican authorities, who at this point had flooded the area like gangbusters with two airplane loads of between 200-300 Federal Police to support the Immigration authorities.  And it should be mentioned that two of the leaders of the migrantes had already been arrested with reports coming in that at least one of these leaders was beaten along with the migrantes around him by the Mexican Federal Police.

Authorities offer migrants legal entry to Mexico

San Cristobal de Las Casas, Chis.

The ambassador of Mexico in Guatemala, Luis Manuel Lopez Moreno said that "Mexico is respectful of the rights of migrants and mobility," so "we are offering under the Migration Law, a documented entry, with a passport and visa , and if not, an entry with the request for refuge and humanitarian aid.

In a collective interview, he said that from this Thursday "people can go to the international bridge", located on the border between Mexico and Guatemala, to be served.
Before the interview, the diplomat went to the park of Tecún Umán to provide this same information to the approximately 500 Honduran migrants who remain in that place waiting to make a decision and the arrival of more compatriots.

After hearing it, the Hondurans rejected the offer because they believe it could be a measure to "sign" them and deport them.
An activist who did not give his name said that "what the government wants is to have their data, their names, to pass that information to the United States so that, if any one arrives at the northern border, they will be signed" .

Lopez Moreno said that "it will be treated case by case, with or without immigration documentation. We would make the effort to attend to the largest number of people per day, but I can not give a precision of how many. "

- At the outset, the government had said that it would not allow the passage, except to those that presented the migratory documentation - a reporter told him.
-That has never been said by the government of Mexico.
- The commissioner of the Federal Police (Manelich Castilla Craviotto) said it.
- We talk about cases in which they do not want to follow the law's regulations, but they are opening the possibility that it is in accordance with the law that the procedures for entry into Mexico can be done on a regular basis.

Lopez Moreno said that in the case of people who request refuge, they may be in the immigration station when they are given the attention to continue the process. They would be as long as necessary.
"If they put up with us and give us the times, of course" Mexico has the capacity to give shelter to the caravan's members, he said.

-The governor, Manuel Velasco Coello said that there is free transit in Chiapas.
-Very simple: First you must go to the immigration authority to enter the country; will be served by Migration.

At about 9:00pm yesterday David Brooks summed up the day, including Trump's outrageous outbursts:

From La Jornada
Por, David Brooks

Pasted for you:

Trump requires Mexico to stop the migrant caravan

New York. For the commander-in-chief of the United States, a caravan of families and their children are a threat to national security that warrants a military response and the closing of borders.
President Donald Trump demanded today that Mexico stop the caravan of approximately 4 thousand people from Honduras and Guatemala to Mexico in order to reach the United States, and threatened that if that does not happen it will send military troops to the border to close the line with Mexico.

In a series of tweets this morning, Trump accused the Central American countries and the Democrats, by continuing to use the issue of the caravan for electoral purposes. "I am watching the assault led by the Democratic Party (because they want Open Frontiers and the existing weak laws) on our country by Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador, whose leaders are doing little to stop this great flow of people, INCLUDING MANY CRIMINALS, of enter Mexico into the United States. "

In response, he threatened: "In addition to suspending all payments to these countries that seem to have almost no control over their populations, I must, in the strongest terms, request Mexico to stop this attack - and if it is unable to do so I will call the military from the US and I WILL CLOSE OUR SOUTHERN BORDER! "

It concluded in a third tweet: "the assault on our country in our southern border, including the criminal elements and the drugs that are dumped there, is much more important to me, as president, than the trade or the USMCA. I hope Mexico will stop this onslaught on its northern border. It's all the fault of the democrats for weak laws! "

But tonight, Trump thanked Mexico in a tweet: "Thank you Mexico, we look forward to working with you!" He wrote referring to a video shared by Karla Zabs, a Twitter user who commented: "Two planes filled with anti-riot equipment landed near the border between Mexico and Guatemala this morning.
Meanwhile, Trump is sending Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to Mexico this Friday to meet with President Enrique Peña Nieto, Foreign Minister Luis Videgaray and the next Chancellor Marcelo Ebrard, where the theme of the caravan will be "prominent", according to high State Department officials.

The issue of the increase in the flow of immigrant families on the border, including the caravan, apparently provoked an intense shouting exchange this afternoon inside the White House between Chief of Staff John Kelly and National Security Advisor John Bolton. According to government sources, Bolton favors a tougher line and criticized Internal Security Secretary Kirsjten Nielsen (who was Kelly's second when he headed that secretariat), and Trump supposedly sided with Bolton, generating more speculation about the future of Kelly.

The issue has obsessed Trump who has said he is contemplating separating children from their parents again.

For its part, the government of Mexico today requested the intervention of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to support the attention of refugee applications in the southern border of Mexico.

Foreign Minister Luis Videgaray addressed the issue in his meeting with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres this afternoon and in comments to reporters before the UN shortly after, stressed that the objective of this aid is to ensure "transparency" and promote a "humanitarian" solution with the help of the international community.

Asked about Trump's statements and threats, Videgaray minimized them, noting that "we must understand the political moment in which the United States finds itself and put President Trump's statements in this context," indicating that there will be intermediate elections in this country in three. weeks "I do not think we should give them more weight ... Mexico already has a lot of experience in understanding statements of this kind on the part of President Trump and we do not negotiate ... diplomacy ... through twitter. What interests us is that those who approach our border have the treatment that they should have under Mexican law and international law and above all, humane treatment. That's why we are here at the UN. "

He said that on Friday they will receive Pompeo and assured that "the relationship with the United States is much greater than an isolated event like this caravan". He stressed that the caravan "is very important for those who come in the caravan who are literally risking their entire lives for a better future" but that the bilateral relationship is "an unparalleled dimension" in the world "and therefore a single fact how can this not be the center or axis that determines what the future of the relationship is?

But Trump's anti-immigrant message has made the issue among the most important for Republican voters according to polls, and in the last weeks before the midterm elections on November 6 - when Republican control of both houses of Congress is at stake - Immigrants as a threat is part of the campaign propaganda of Republican candidates throughout the country. CNN estimated that candidates and party committees have spent more than $ 150 million on television spots related to migration (more than five times the total of the 2014 midterm elections)."

~~~~~
Which leads us to today's events, the storming of the gates by the migrantes - who were obviously spooked when the word got out that one of their leaders and some of their compadres had already been beaten up by the Mexican Federal Police in addition to enduring the burdens of tortured lives in their homeland.  Most recent reports at the moment are that order has been restored.  But not forgetting the past and present instances of the mano duro we need to really keep our eyes on this situation.
