Problem Solved ? The Arizona Church Hosting a Trump Rally Claims It Can Kill COVID-19
by, Elvia Diaz

Opinion: Dream City Church says it has found a technology to wipe out almost all traces of COVID-19? That's too good and convenient to be true.

"Just when you think things can’t get any creepier comes the church hosting President Trump’s Arizona visit with a too-good-to-be-true technology that kills COVID-19.

Leaders from the Dream City Church, which has locations in Phoenix and Scottsdale, are claiming in a Facebook post that they’ve installed new technology that “kills 99% of coronavirus” through “ionization” within 10 minutes. A local company — conveniently owned by church members — developed the technology, they say.

Certainly it’s too good to be true. But hey, that’s not stopping the church’s CFO Brendon Zastrow and Pastor Luke Barnett from promoting the technology in the wake of the presidential visit.

Good grief. You can’t make this stuff up.

They don’t mention Trump’s Arizona visit, but it can’t be a coincidence that they’re pushing their new, miracle stuff to kill the virus that causes COVID-19.

Take those claims with a ton of salt

Trump is heading to Yuma for a photo-op at the U.S.-Mexico border and is scheduled to speak to more than 3,000 people at the "Students for Trump" event at Dream City Church in north Phoenix in Tuesday.

Arizona is among the nation’s hardest hit with a huge spike of positive COVID-19 cases in recent weeks.

Uncle Sam hasn’t signed off on any vaccine or method to kill the virus that has infected more than 2.3 million Americans and killed more than 120,000.

And now the Dream City Church miraculously has an ionization technology that wipes out COVID-19 in the wake of Trump’s visit?

Yeah, this is suspiciously too convenient to believe and too reckless to say. "

"Turning Point Action" and Students for Trump are affiliates of the big daddy, "Turning Point USA"

COVID-19 conspiracy theories

Charlie Kirk of TPUSA spread conspiracy theories and disinformation about COVID-19 on social media platforms, such as Twitter, in 2020.[106] Kirk sharply criticized Democrats' criticism of President Donald Trump's withdrawal of World Health Organization (WHO) funding and referred to COVID-19 as the "China virus", which was retweeted by President Trump.[106] Furthermore, Kirk alleged that the WHO covered up information about the COVID-19 pandemic. [106] He was briefly banned from Twitter after making a false claim that hydroxychloroquine has proved to be "100% effective in treating the virus"; and that Gretchen Whitmer, the Democratic governor of Michigan, threatened doctors who tried to use the medication.[106]

This falsehood was retweeted by Rudolph Giuliani whose account was then suspended by Twitter as well.[106] Kirk also spread rumors that the public health measure of social distancing prohibitions in churches was a "Democratic plot against Christianity" and made the unfounded assertion that authorities in Wuhan, China are burning patients, which is another conspiracy theory without any supporting evidence.[106]

In defending the Trump administration's response to the coronavirus pandemic, Kirk repeatedly spread falsehoods that the Obama administration responded slowly to the H1N1 swine flu pandemic.[107][108] One of his false memes went viral and the other was retweeted by President Trump.[107][108]

Instances of racism and anti-semitism

In December 2017, The New Yorker published an article by Jane Mayer showcasing interviews with former minority members of the organization. Former staff members said they witnessed widespread discrimination against minorities in the group, and stated "the organization was a difficult workplace and rife with tension, some of it racial."[53][72]

One former employee, an African-American woman, said she was the only person of color working for the organization at the time she was hired in 2014; she then said that she was fired on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The article also revealed text messages sent by Crystal Clanton – who was a leading figure in the organization and served as the group's national field director for five years – to another Turning Point employee saying "i hate black people. Like fuck them all . . . I hate blacks. End of story."

Kirk responded to the revelations by saying that "Turning Point assessed the situation and took decisive action within 72 hours of being made aware of the issue."[53] The article also noted that Kirk had explicitly praised Clanton in his book Time for a Turning Point, saying that she had been "the best hire we ever could have made," and that "Turning Point needs more Crystals; so does America."[53]

In an article titled "Turning Point USA Keeps Accidentally Hiring Racists," HuffPost reported that the woman hired to replace Crystal Clanton had a history of using racial slurs, particularly against African-Americans, on Twitter before deleting her account. In response to the reports, Kirk referred to the individual in question as "a former employee" in his official statement (without clarifying when she had been fired), and Turning Point issued an internal memo announcing that all current and new staff would face social media background checks.[73]

Charlie Kirk has said Turning Point USA has no relationship with alt-right groups.[74] In 2017, Turning Point chapters organized campus visits by former Breitbart editor Milo Yiannopoulos to the University of Colorado Boulder and Miami University (Ohio).[75][76][77]

In 2018, the Southern Poverty Law Center's Hatewatch documented TPUSA's links to white supremacists.[78][79]

On May 9, 2019, Riley Grisar was removed from his position as the president of TPUSA's UNLV chapter after a video surfaced of him with a friend using the okay hand signal in tandem with the chants of "white power" and "fuck the niggers".[80]

Grisar's friend, who did most of the speaking in the video, is publicly identified as Lily Saxton, a student at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota.[81] Saxton has no other known affiliations with TPUSA. The UNLV wing of Turning Point had previous press coverage from circumstances involving an April 2019 display of theirs on UNLV campus, which included a cardboard mock-up of a brick wall reading "Build the Wall". The display received significant protest from fellow students, which included vandalism and violence.[82]

In May 2019, it was reported that TPUSA's director for high school outreach, Kyle Kashuv, had previously used racially inflammatory language.[83][84] Screenshots of a Google Document for a class study guide showed Kashuv writing "NIGGER" multiple times, discussing "JEWISH SLAVES", and declaring that he would "fucking make a CSOG [sic] map of Douglas and practice" (in a supposed reference to the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive shooter game and Stoneman Douglas High School).

Text messages reportedly showed Kashuv rating a female student "7/10" and stating that she "goes for niggerjocks".[85][86][87][88] Kashuv resigned from TPUSA hours after his former classmates threatened to make the screenshots public. Almost a week after the screenshots were published, Kashuv acknowledged that his comments were "callous and inflammatory".[83][84]

In July 2019, Kathy Zhu, a Chinese American conservative woman politically active on the University of Michigan campus, was stripped of her title as Miss Michigan USA due to comments about African-Americans and Muslims on social media that Miss World America found "offensive, insensitive and inappropriate."[89]

Her posts included comments such as "the majority of black deaths are caused by other blacks", as well as criticizing a "Try a hijab booth" at the University of Central Florida, where she previously attended.[90] She defended her comments and opinions afterward, stating that her stances were derived from factual evidence such as FBI crime statistics, and that her statements were decontextualized.[91]

Zhu had previously attended Turning Point USA events,[92] but since referred to Turning Point USA as "garbage". Zhu criticized them for severing ties with brand ambassador Ashley St. Clair after she attended a dinner with alt-right figures; Zhu was also present at this event.[93]

Anti-Defamation League and Southern Poverty Law Center

TPUSA has been called an "alt-lite" organization by the Anti-Defamation League[94] (ADL) and has been criticized by both the ADL and the Southern Poverty Law Center for affiliating with activists from the alt-right and the far-right.[95]

Conflicts with other conservative organizations

In May 2018, an internal memo written by Young America's Foundation (YAF) was leaked, in which YAF leadership "warned" its members to not associate with Turning Point. The memo accused the organization of various improprieties such as exaggerating the number of Turning Point chapters and activities around the country, taking credit for other organizations' events, increasing attendance at its own events by "boosting numbers with racists & Nazi sympathizers," and sponsoring "humiliating" campus activism events, in reference to the Kent State diaper incident.[96]

In addition, the YAF memo included another memo on the subject circulated internally by Young Americans for Liberty, which accused Turning Point of illegally obtaining YAL's email list and soliciting its students without their permission, which Turning Point only stopped doing after being issued a cease-and-desist order.[97]

After the memo was leaked in June 2018, a representative for Turning Point criticized Young America's Foundation in a statement to The Chronicle of Higher Education, accusing the group of "abandoning the 'Reagan Rule'" that "Thou shalt not speak ill of any fellow Republican." Although Charlie Kirk did not directly respond to the memo, he posted on Twitter that he wished "some conservatives fought the left as hard as they fight people who support President Trump".

Turning Point's Communications Director Candace Owens directly responded to the memo, saying she was "truly speechless" over the memo supposedly attacking Kirk for his lack of college experience. A former employee stated on Twitter that "TPUSA activists do some incredible work. It's a shame the face for their work has become constant, EXTREME inflation of numbers to mislead donors. They have an opportunity to turn this around, and they should."[98]

In the Hillsdale College Collegian, opinions editor Kaylee McGhee wrote an article titled "Charlie Kirk and TPUSA aren't conservative, as real conservatives already knew". In the article, McGhee referred to TPUSA as a "reactionary cancer" rather than a group supporting real conservatism that is "supposed to preserve the timeless principles of liberty and equality for all".[99]

In late October 2018, The Daily Beast reported that Lucian Wintrich and other conservatives blamed Charlie Kirk and Candace Owens for losing Kanye West as an ally of President Trump.[100] Since then, West has re-affirmed his support for President Trump.[101]

During October and November 2019, Kirk launched the 'Culture War' college tour of speaking events with appearances from many conservatives such as Donald Trump Jr., Lara Trump and Kimberly Guilfoyle. These events were frequently targeted by homophobic and antisemitic members of the alt-right and far right who consider TPUSA to be too mainstream and not sufficiently conservative. Concerted efforts were made by this group to ask leading questions during the Q&A sections on controversial topics such as Israel and LGBTQ issues in order to challenge the extent of the speakers' views. [102]"

Tulsa, Oklahoma : Will This Be The Shot Heard Round The World ? Trump Has Already Threatened Counterprotesters, Smeared & Blemished JUNETEENTH, & Now Is Warning Tulsa To Prepare For A "Wild Weekend" - The Asshole WANTS To Provoke and He WANTS Trouble - Maybe We'll All Get Lucky & He And The Idiot RedHats Will All Come Down With Serious Fucking COVID - Jeffrey St. Clair Has the Numbers On Police Brutality & Mucho Mas - Juan Cole Adresses COVID & The Trump Rally ! - UPDATE/EDIT 06/21: THE TULSA TRUMP RALLY WAS A FLOP ! TRUMP BOMBS IN TULSA!!!

Sorry...the computer died (again), Paris needs a bath, my house is a mess, we are trying to capture these kittens to take them in to be be "fixed", Mike had an MRI and he is scheduled for surgery the first of July with a stay over in the Hospital for three days then home for two weeks; he will get a COVID test this Monday (required for surgical patients). The surgery is "cervical foraminotomies" so we're stressed although the Doctor tells us not to be. And, Mike is not feeling great at all.

These kittens update: the original batch is still here, the nine new ones were moved out by their mom, but now other kittens are hopping the walls and coming in - these are much larger kittens than the original batch and these guys are mean (very agro - they beat up the smaller kittens and I'm chasing them off with a broom).  In addition, there are three more feral females hanging out who are extremely needy.   Lila took off and hasn't been home for days, Rubio & Tommy come in late to get a bite to eat then take off, it is chaos. Mike said Dr. Silva told him the last time we took kittens in for operations that the feral cats actually signal, or talk to each other and tell other ferals where the food is. I wasn't sure I believed that initially, but I do now. One of the original kittens was born with a deformity, so instead of releasing her we might keep her. Anyway, it is a disaster.

Trump At Tulsa As 21st Century Typhoid Mary, as Fauci Warns On Rally, Science Bashing
By, Juan Cole

"Ann Arbor (Informed Comment) – Scientists know the story of Typhoid Mary, an immigrant from Ireland to the US in the late 19th century. She had typhoid, but refused to admit it, and was hired as a maid, and by 1907 some 3,000 New Yorkers had typhoid, and she was the super-spreader. Typhoid Mary rejected the notion, not being big on science.

Trump is our very own 2020 typhoid Mary.

When asked about his rally in Tulsa on Saturday, at a stadium that holds 19,000 and the grounds of which could host another 80,000 visitors, Trump demeaned the 700 deaths a day in the US from the novel coronavirus as “miniscule.” Just as he did in January and February when he declined to take decisive steps against the pandemic, he insisted that the virus is “dying out.” He also said that he thought people were wearing masks to show that they did not like him, Trump. The latter is a signal to his base to avoid masks and to keep up the appearance of normality, which he thinks will help his reelection bid.

Unfortunately, the refusal to wear masks will kill large numbers of Americans. Hong Kong, where mask-wearing is universal, has had 4 coronavirus deaths. New Zealand’s government managed to get rid of the coronavirus entirely.

The braindead Oklahoma Supreme Court ruled that rally attendees do not have to wear masks or practice social distancing, and the Trump campaign had made them optional.

Dr. Anthony Fauci and Dr. Deborah Birx, members of the alleged Trump coronavirus task force, lobbied Trump against the Tulsa rally. Fauci himself was asked if he would go to such an event and his answer was basically, “are you ca-raazy?”

Fauci lamented that many Americans have an anti-science attitude, which makes dealing with the pandemic difficult. Arguably, that anti-science attitude has killed 50,000 people (see below), with many more on the way. And the disastrous US response to the pandemic tells us how catastrophic our response to the climate emergency will also be. Me, I don’t get it. You jump off a skyscraper, you will be bugsplat. Always. Science has laws, and we can’t change them by glaring at them or shouting at them or wearing a partisan campaign button. You sit close to someone for hours without a mask, who has the disease and is screaming, you almost certainly will sicken, and you might die.

The virus is most effectively spread by infected people expelling it in droplets from their mouths. More droplets are spread when a person is chanting and shouting than just breathing. A victim is more likely to be given the virus if they breath in a big load of it, which happens if they are less than six feet away from the infected person, are with the infected person for a long time and if that person is spraying saliva at them by shouting campaign slogans. This viral load not only helps determine if you get sick, but also how sick you get.

In a closely packed crowd of 19,000, shouting for four hours straight, the likelihood is that some 800 to 1000 people could be infected by just 20 people who have the disease (and it may not show). The newly sick in turn could infect 3,000 others in the next days, and then that would become 9,000 and 27,000 if the rate of transmission were 3, and after a while you have a big outbreak.

Trump is planning another huge rally at an Arizona megachurch next week. Arizona had over 3,000 new cases just on Thursday and its number of sick is ticking up.

Chris Casteel at the Oklahoman points out that Tulsa County has the worst outbreak in the state, with numbers rising. The rally will certainly worsen that situation, and possibly worsen it considerably. Some 54% of the new cases in Oklahoma have been people 35 and younger, putting the lie to the notion that the young are somehow immune. There has also been an 11% rise in elderly victims. Covid-19 survivors can suffer lifetime damage to lungs, kidneys and other organs.

Oklahoma public health officials are afraid that the enormous rally will spread the disease, as attendees disperse and as some of them visit relatives in nursing homes in the coming weeks (visits are being allowed again by state authorities).

If the death rate holds steady, in only 5 months another 100,000 Americans will die of Covid-19, on top the the nearly 120,000 already killed. Specialists believe that if Trump had locked down the country two weeks earlier, in late February instead of late March, some 40% of the deaths to date could have been prevented, which is to say, that Trump is personally responsible for the deaths of nearly 50,000 Americans, already.

That’s about how many Americans the Nazis killed at Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge, combined.

The likelihood is, however, that the death rate will go back up. It was 960 a day in the first week of June.

Alarmingly, on Thursday alone new cases surged to 27,700 , and the one-week average grew by 15% over the previous week. In early June on some days there were less than 20,000 new cases nation-wide, but the trendlines are now going in the wrong direction (i.e., up).

The increased cases are a result of Memorial Day gatherings and early openings of states like Florida and Texas, the governors of which were doing Trump’s bidding. "

See, I'm not the ONLY person who calls these Trumpistas braindead. Well, at the end of the day, we may not hear the shot that was heard 'round the world, but we will see without a doubt alot of COVID patients.

UPDATE/edit 06/21/20 a little after midnight:

Let's face it, the Trump Rally was a FLOP ! I was really worried thinking 60K yahoos would show up, not the case at all.  After all the hoopla, maybe...maybe there might have been nine to ten thousand yahoos (and even that number is probably high) the majority of whom were not wearing masks...and even the showman Trump could not hide his disappointment or anxiety, did you look closely at his face and study his reactions? Did you see it , over and over again?  Someone should have said, "Give him the hook !" or it could be said to, "Give him the
cane!"

Q: "Where does it come from? Where did it originate? Is it an homage to something? Who played it straight first? Is it a purely American thing?"

A: " It's claimed that use of 'the hook' originated at Harry Miner's Bowery Theater in New York in 1903. According to a pamphlet put out by Miner later, his son Tom was the first to use the hook (which was a shepherd's crook prop from an earlier act) to pull a particularly bad amateur performer offstage. Thereafter, it became a regular feature, with crowds shouting "get the hook" at unpopular performances."

A: "I'm a stagehand and occasionally work music festivals. The stage manager still keeps the schedule and signals to the act when it's time to come off, we just don't use the stick any more. There's a big analogue clock that's visible on the side of stage and the SM will signal when it's last song. If the act's a bit loose and not paying attention or the crowd wants another encore we don't have time for, you'll see a man in black come on stage and have a word in their ear. Personally I'd love to bring back the hook, especially for rubbish DJS"

A: "It comes from Vaudeville shows. Vaudeville shows often had inexperienced performers, "variety acts", people who would go way too long, etc. Nowadays there is a light that signals a performer that their time is up and to GTFO. But they didn't have that so they use a big shepherds crook to drag them off the stage. Cartoons, which became a thing back when vaudeville was popular, ran with this and made it it's own thing. Vaudeville was kind of like open-mic back in the day."

A: "It's a Vaudeville gag, and many of the early movie acts were originally from Vaudeville, and a lot of the tropes came with them."

Hmmm...how about give him the boot?

Now I am overjoyed to hear "Oklahoma"  and dedicate the song all the BLM protesters from Oklahoma, you guys did good ! Yip-Aye-Yeah ! BTW, my first dance recital was to "Surrey With The Fringe On Top" from that very same musical, we were terrible though.

Some quickie reviews, expect more in the days to come...and will the Trumpistas try to make up for the bad performance and lousy turnout in the upcoming Arizona  Rally??  I hope not. Plus, the white conservative Zonie Braindead Redhats are scary; they are permanently locked and loaded.  May turn out they give us a show...I hope not.  BTW, white ultra conservative Zonies have always been scary and strange...who was that guy...oh right, Barry Goldwater. So, we might see some weird acting out as in 2016, heads up.

Y'all take care and stay safe.
