I Made a Big Mistake On The Last Blog

Sorry - I guess I sort of blasted the San Diego Press for not covering the violence here in Tijuana. I was wrong and here is the video from KPBS to prove it. If you are not familiar with their guest speakers you should know that these folks are the best in their fields: Professor David Shirk (SDSU), Vanda Felbab-Brown of the Brookings Institute, Cecilia Farton -Mendez of the Mexico Violence Resource Project, and Stephanie Brewer of the Washington Office on Latin America.

Also just a note that this same subject (Sinaloa vs. CJNG) was partially covered back here.

Still, keep your eyes peeled and pay attention to these guys. The only problem I had with this report is that it was not mentioned that after the melee here, AMLO basically attempted to downplay the violence which we experienced and claimed that it was perpetrated by his "political enemies" (not to be confused with the Sinaloa and CJNG Cartels) and that it was purely "propaganda." Ahem.

We will return to the Ukraine in a bit.

From KPBS:  Unsure why the wrong video keeps coming up...however here it is on the link in case you are getting Hurricane Orlene:

"Recent Tijuana Cartel Violence Part Of A Pattern That Goes Back Decades"

"Aug 22, 2022 Just over a week ago, a drug cartel launched a campaign of terror on Tijuana – vehicles were set ablaze and gunmen blocked major thoroughfares. KPBS border reporter Gustavo Solis talked to experts about the reasons behind the attacks."
