Brett Kavanugh (spelled wrong on purpose) Got Some 'Splanin To Do - Updates 09/24: Frontera Reports @ 8:13am 154 Dead in TIJ - YTD Total in TIJ Is 1,818

Extremely behind here due to three trips up to the States last week; Paris was at VCA once again, but she has finally recovered from a weird bug she picked up.  Yesterday I was able to give her a bathers and she had her first full meal (Mike cooked her a New York). This is a problem with Bassetts - they are hounds and always have their noses down sniffing around getting into everything...plus they are ultra sensitive. Bob the Daca cat is by her side.

In between times we have been following the Kavanaugh saga with the accusations from Dr. Christine Blassey Ford (whom we both believe) while Trump and his idiot son minimize and dismiss her charges along with most Republicans.  Now when I see Mitch McConnell I want to vomit.
He was always a turtle head.

Y'all remember this guy...the flasher !

Yesterday late afternoon more charges emerged regarding Brett Kavanugh  (I spelled that wrong on purpose) from yet another woman:

From the New Yorker:

Senate Democrats Investigate a New Allegation of Sexual Misconduct, From Brett Kavanaughs College Years
By, Ronana Farrow & Jane Meyer - 09/23/18

Stormy Daniel's attorney Michael Avenatti adds more fuel to the fire (keep in mind though that Ryan Grimm has noted this story may be going nowhere in so many words).  But still...

 From The Hill:

Avenatti Says He Has Witnesses Who Can Back Sexual Assault Claims Against Kavanaugh
By, Aris Folley - 09/23/18

Next, as far as we know, Kavanugh & Dr. Blassey Ford with both be testifying on Thursday 27th, and Diane Feinstein (oh finally she does something right) calls for a postponement of the the key Judiciary Committee vote.

Unfortunately, Mexico who is famous for their Novelas has not at least locally been covering the Kavanugh story - and it would make a great Novela.

*********

Locally it has been horrible, PGJE building attacked in Tijuana, another Police Officer murdered, many killings throughout Ensenada , Pabillon's in Rosarito has become a shooting gallery, drug tunnel located out in Jacume across from Jacumba, and the executions just keep mounting in Tijuana. Taking care of Paris kept my mind distracted, but the truth is, people are scared.  AMLO was in town - thousands turned out to greet and cheer him on...he looked worried to me.  I'll be back tomorrow with those updates and latest reports on Immigration Atrocities thanks to Donald Trump.

UPDATE/edit 09/24:

 - We are past the midmark of the month, so it is difficult to say if September will continue the trend of hitting at least 200 dead from the drug war in Tijuana.  In order to understand or get a sense of how the Mexican people are feeling about the violence, here is the latest survey:

From Frontera:

Eight out of ten Tijuanenses feel insecure: Survey
By: |
TIJUANA, Baja California (GH)
Eight out of ten (81.2%) Tijuanenses feel insecure, as reflected in the last citizen perception report of the Metropolitan Center of Economic and Business Information (Cemdi) regarding the first semester of 2018, this statistic exceeds the national average that is set in 79.7%.

The director of Cemdi, Rubén Roa Dueñas pointed out that 84.6% of the women surveyed feel insecure when driving on the streets, it is the highest rate registered, however in the case of men there is also a high percentage that does not feel sure to be walking on the roads of the city with 77.8%.

It may interest you: Low perception of insecurity in Tijuana up to 5%, according to Inegi

"Our function is to generate transparent statistics, we are not going to tire of publishing the findings that the citizenship gives us and the impacts to the economy, we want CDT to do well and promote investment, and this is a way to give clarity to the authorities the thinking of the people, "he said.

ATMs with 77% are still the places where people take the most precautions, followed by transportation with 65.4% and with 57.6% the public road as the most insecure places in Tijuana according to the public perception.

The state and municipal police do not generate confidence
The state police was the lowest in the index of trust on the part of the citizens in Tijuana with 3.4%, while the municipal police also came out with a very low 3.6%, while the Federal Police registered a 7.8% and the armed forces like army and navy have a confidence of 19.3%.

You may be interested: Perception of insecurity decreases 12.8% in Tijuana: Cemdi

In the face of the homicides that continue to plague the city, there was a 10% increase in the witnessing of the sale and consumption of drugs with respect to the last quarter (48.9%), something that draws attention and for what the CDT urged to combat the crime prevention.

"We must work more in the prevention of crime and all technological tools to ensure the safety of citizens," he said.

Finally, Roa Dueñas mentioned that it is irrelevant to ask if the delinquents, aggressors or even victims are from Tijuana or from abroad, since the city has historically been nourished on the basis of migration.

"The city has been very kind because of the geographical location and its proximity to the North American market, it would be pointless to delve into the origin of the criminals." concluded.

I Was Watching the Kavanaugh Hearings.....My Review of "Active Measures" - 09/12: Pussy Riot Member In Critical Condition - Suspected To Have Been Poisoned - 09/13: Pussy Riot Updates - "Hurricane Florence, 9-11 Climate Change Terrorism" by manuel garcia jr - NYTimes Reports the Plan to give MEX 20M Dollars To Become The Linebacker For US Immigration Policy Yet Proceso Reports It Ain't Going To Happen- Stats Next Blog: Quickie Look: 80+ Dead in TIJ So Far this Month !

I don't seem to get around here much anymore, but I have some good excuses. Last week we had to take Paris up to Ramona to Dr. Beth's because she needed her "Revolution" flea meds renewed and there isn't anyone down here that can do that. I was also literally glued to watching and listening to the Kavanaugh Hearings which were shameful. Then there was the op-ed piece to the New York Times which freaked everyone out, but which I think is pure bullshit - we'll come back to that one later. Last night we started watching Active Measures which I was afraid to watch thinking it was financed by the Clinton Foundation....but so far it is worth the watch, particularly if you were not aware of what a gangster Trump is.

**********

Update on Active Measures, my review:  We finished watching this film-doc last night. Although everything it depicts about the relationships of Donald Trump, his family & campaign staff and the Russians/Putin is probably true, it goes further to present Hillary, the DNC & Podesta as the only victims of the 2016 campaign and innocent as lambs.  There is no mention of how Hillary, the DNC & Podesta rigged and stole the Primaries against Bernie, the lies they spread about Bernie (including violence by Bernie's delegates), how Bernie's delegates were not allowed to speak or protest during the DNC convention, and the super delegates who were already bought off by Hillary prior to the actual primaries to name a few incidents. Trump, Putin and Hillary are one in the same, they are criminals and gangsters.  I would only recommend this doc-film if you are interested in the connections between Trump and his family and Trump's campaign team to organized crime in Russia. Further, there is no mention of the interference of the United States in elections throughout the world which have established dozens of tyrants and dictators.

**********

One thing I have noticed about the gringos both here and in the States: they all agree that Mexico is corrupt beyond repair.  Any more and particularly now this sentiment in my opinion is inappropriate and unreasonable.  What we witnessed from the Kavanaugh Hearings was complete and total corruption of the United State's highest court of the land - the Supreme Court.  It does not get worse than that although of course, corruption rips through the US Government backwards, frontwards and sideways. So the message is '...before you accuse me, take a look at yourself." The consensus is that Brett Kavanaugh will be confirmed which means dark times ahead for the United States. I guess we could all do a quickie novena to St. Jude the Patron Saint of hopeless causes, maybe that might work.

Brett Kavanaugh, the all American - Joe- Good- Guy-Just a Swell Lad Who Coaches-Girls Basketball and a Great Dad- a True American as portrayed by the GOP is a shithead. He has been endorsed by Breitbart, the NRA, MOM & the Family Research Council ( who vehemently oppose LGBT rights), he is opposed to reproductive rights, affordable health care, immigrants rights, workers rights, anti-environment, anti-regulations, favors the corporates, is pro racial profiling, pro complete executive power and is a liar.  It was bad enough that the Republicans provided absolute complete non disclosure of his records (on purpose) but he has the polished ability to avoid answering questions like a true mafiosa. By the weekend I was sick to my stomach.

So here are some links - you have to read Jeffrey St. Clair - and I am behind on my subscription to Counterpunch  so this link was provided by Sonya over on the Intercept: (one reason I am behind is because we opted to buy Paris a brand new Big Barker Bed with cover except now she wants another one for upstairs.  Paris and Bob the Daca Cat are so spoiled I cannot believe it.  Bob now only eats chicken so every other day I'm roasting chickens. "Doctors reportedly suspect Pussy Riot member Pyotr Verzilov was poisoned with a neurotransmitter-blocking medicine

A powerful neurotransmitter-blocking medicine is apparently what landed Pyotr Verzilov in critical condition at the toxicology wing of Moscow’s Bakhrushin City Clinical Hospital on September 11. Verzilov’s partner says he started losing his vision, speech, and mobility before he was rushed to the emergency room.

Citing his doctors, the activist’s friends told Meduza that physicians believe he either overdosed on or was poisoned by anticholinergic drugs, which are used to treat a variety of conditions, including dizziness, ulcers, insomnia, and asthma. Verzilov’s family told Meduza that they are “1,000-percent” certain that he didn’t willingly ingest any anticholinergic drugs.

Verzilov remains in critical condition, but his life is reportedly not in danger, and he is slowly recuperating. Relatives say he still isn’t speaking, and “reacts only with his eyes.”
A member of Pussy Riot and the publisher of the investigative news website Mediazona, which conducts often daring reporting on Russia's criminal justice system, Verzilov has been a prominent figure in Russia’s anti-Kremlin opposition movement since the late 2000s, when he performed in the controversial “Voina” artist-activist group alongside his then wife, Nadezhda Tolokonnikova.

All of this and not a peep on the local conditions due to the drug war, or the immigration issues.  Sorry.  Will come back to those in the next blog - but to give you a heads up, here in TIJ we have surpassed 80 executions so far this month, attacks on authorities, burned and headless bodies, etc. The Gendarme has been deployed to our region and prior to their arrival massive quantities of heroin, cocaine, meth & weed have been seized up and down the coast.

There has also been no mention locally of the millions and millions  of dollars the USA under Trump plans to send  to Mexico (as part of Merida) to get rid of the migrantes in Mexico and before they make it to the line - not a word. Will AMLO go along with this policy? Also, waiting to see the blowback from ICE receiving million of dollars  funneled to them from FEMA.

May not return until the weekend.

Update 09/13 10:42 pm:

US Plans to Pay $20 Million To Help Mexico Deport Migrants
By, Cathine E. Shoichet

However Proceso reports today that there is no deal - even though this point has been on the table for a long time where initially Pena wanted 800 million dollars. I'll paste this report for you, and while you are there check out the section on the transition of AMLO:

From Proceso:

Por Presion Del Equipo de AMLO, Gobierno de Pena Rechaza 20mdd de EU Para Filtro Migratorio
Por, J.Jesus Esquivel - 09/13/18

Under pressure from AMLO team, Peña government rejects US $ 20 million for immigration filter

"WASHINGTON (AP) - Due to pressure from the transition team of President-elect Andrés Manuel López Obrador, the government of Enrique Peña Nieto rejected 20 million dollars allocated in the Mérida Initiative by the Donald Trump administration for the repatriation of undocumented immigrants. in Mexico.

"The Mexican government did not accept the 20 million dollars, they are there at the bottom of the Mérida Initiative, but they were not accepted to carry out repatriations," a government official from Peña Nieto told Apro in response to the dispatch published by this weekly. on its website, noting that Washington's proposal to finance the cost of deportations in Mexico would be signed.

A member of the transition team of the president-elect, reported to Apro that, for a few weeks, Marcelo Ebrard Casaubón (future secretary of Foreign Affairs), told the chancellery in charge of Luis Videgaray Caso, that he would not accept any money from the government of Trump to defray the expenses of the deportation of undocumented immigrants.

"We knew of the negotiations and the intention of the government of President Trump to provide funds for the deportation of people from Mexico to their countries of origin, therefore, the government of Peña Nieto was asked not to accept a single penny" , stressed the informative source of López Obrador's transition team.

Over the refusal of the still Mexican government, the State Department, in charge of the financing and revision of the Mérida Initiative, recently notified the US Federal Congress about the allocation of the 20 million dollars.

The process of informing the Capitol about the destination of funds for the international affairs budget by the Department of State is mandatory, which does not imply, as the Mexican government clarifies, that the 20 million dollars are accepted.

President Trump tried to convince the Peña Nieto government that Mexico would become a sort of immigration filter for Washington since he arrived at the White House and applied the Zero Tolerance policy to undocumented immigration, by approving the separation of children from their parents when arriving as undocumented immigrants to the southern border of the United States and criminalizing those of legal age.

In secret, Luis Videgaray and Alfonso Navarrete Prida, secretary of the Interior, negotiated, like the Trump government, the agreement to convert Mexico into a Third Secure Country (TPS).
With the typification of the TPS, Trump intended that all non-Mexican foreign immigrants seeking asylum for any reason or reason in the United States, first, they requested it in Mexico so that they could not even get close to the southern border of the United States.

Luis Videgaray and the Mexican ambassador in Washington, Gerónimo Gutiérrez Fernández publicly denied the negotiation of the TPS, however, Proceso and various US media outlets, including The New York Times , published evidence to the contrary.

After an interview ( Proceso 2180), Ambassador Gutiérrez Fernández accepted that the TPS case was reviewed with the United States government, but assured that the idea of specifying the agreement had already been rejected.

With the financing of 20 million dollars, the Trump administration was looking for the Mexican government to accept a kind of deportation quota for undocumented immigrants.

The New York Times , in its print edition today, publishes a dispatch that gives an account, as does Proceso, about Trump's intention to get the Mexican government to accept the repatriation of undocumented immigrants.

The New York newspaper even announces that the 20 million dollars would cover the costs of Mexico's deportation to their countries of origin of some 17,000 undocumented immigrants.

The migratory funds in the Mérida Initiative focused on the repatriation of migrants from continents such as Africa and Asia.

In Mexico, and due to the infrastructure and training incapacity of the personnel of the National Institute of Immigration (INI), immigrants detained from countries such as Bangladesh, Cameroon or India, are released and people arrive at the northern border to try to enter the  United States.

The $ 20 million from the State Department would pay the cost of intercontinental flights of undocumented immigrants in Mexico, which would be convenient for Trump to prevent the flow of migrants in its southern border, another migratory filter not of the TPS puff that he intended to sign with the government of Peña Nieto."

In the case of Central American immigrants detained in Mexico as undocumented, the elderly are deported by land (in buses) and minors by plane.

"The 20 million dollars are there, in the Mérida Initiative, the government of President Peña Nieto has already rejected them for immigration purposes, and it will be up to the next president (López Obrador) to decide whether to take them or not," the official added. outgoing government.

The New York Times, having ignored the refusal of the Mexican government to accept the money from the State Department, in his office on the matter, even, reported the refusal of legislators to the idea of wanting Mexico to do the dirty work of Washington.

"The intention of the Congress to approve this money (in the Merida Initiative) is to support the communities to face the problem of crime, corruption and many other challenges, not to expand the deportations crusade of this administration," he told The New York Times the Democratic representative for the state of New York, Eliot Engel, member of the Committee of International Affairs.

On October 11 and 12 in Washington, the Second Conference on Prosperity and Security in Central America will be held with the participation of the governments of that region, Trump, Peña Nieto and members of the Andrés Manuel López Obrador team."

"Doctors reportedly suspect Pussy Riot member Pyotr Verzilov was poisoned with a neurotransmitter-blocking medicine

Meduza
05:03, 13 september 2018

Boycott Chiquita Bananas - The August 2018 Stats Tijuana: Frontera Reports 221 Intentional Homicides YTD TIJ = 1,657 Dead - Zeta Reports On The Wounded In Our Region - Baja Malibu, Playa Blanca & SADM Beaches Still Officially Shut Down Due to Contamination

  - There have been two different reports on the number of executions/murders in Tijuana for the month of August - so it is likely in a few days we will do a revision of these totals:

Zeta reported that August closed with 212 intentional homicides:

Zeta - Daily News

Agosto Cierra con 212 Homicidios Dolosos

Frontera reports a higher number of 221 violent deaths in Tijuana to give the city a YTD total of 1,657 dead:

Frontera - Policiaca

 - The Wounded

A long report from Zeta covering the numbers of wounded or injured people left behind in the drug war this year in Tijuana who are also referred to as the "walking dead" by the authorities because sooner or later since they are marked, they will probably be dead too, and compares these figures to 2017.  So, clearly the violence is not clean, it is messy.

Some highlights pasted for you:

"With 731 victims, the number of people injured by firearms increased by 30 percent compared to last year; between 70 and 80% of these crimes are related to the sale of drugs at retail. According to the version of the police, it is usual that these injured are victims of subsequent attacks until they are killed. The only case with sentence in 2018 had a penalty of three years for shooting a policeman"

"Comparing the number of injured by firearms from 2017 to 2018, in January the number grew from 47 to 94; February, from 41 to 64; March, from 51 to 71; in April it dropped from 89 to 83; in May, it again rose from 89 to 92; in June, from 87 to 116; in July, from 91 to 127. It is expected the closing of August, which in 22 days of elapsed, added 84 injured."

The increase in drug related violence in our neighborhood and Rosarito Beach has raised a few eyebrows and left neighbors wondering if the fuse igniting more bloodshed in Rosarito Beach has been lit and what we should be preparing ourselves for or if these occurrences in the past few days are just another blip on the radar.

Most recently:

 -  09/01/18:

Zeta reports:

"Tres horas más tarde, a las 10:33 horas, fue encontrado el cuerpo de un hombre con disparos de arma de fuego y envuelto en una cobija, sobre el kilómetro 16+100, de la carretera Tijuana-San Miguel, bajo el puente de acceso a Baja Malibu."

The problem here is that it is unclear if the author meant to say the Scenic Highway, and there is no bridge access to Baja Malibu just south of us, the access is from the Scenic Highway. Unless the encobijado was found in the old tunnel under the Highway which connects lower BM to Middle BM ? Still, there it is and as you can see, we are rolling into September at a high clip:

 - In colonia Ampliacion Rosarito Beach, one man kidnapped and his vehicle stolen by armed men, and a taxi cab driver shot and wounded in Primo Tapia, Rosarito Beach:

 - August 31:

 - Frontera reports an armed attack inside of the seafood restaurant "Mahajua" in colonia Plan Libertador of Rosarito Beach by gunmen leaving two men injured, one of them seriously:

Ataque Armado al Interior de Restaurante de Mariscos en Rosarito
Por, Carmen Guiterrez

  - Frontera reports in colonia Constitucion of Rosarito Beach, a shoot out (according to witnesses) between gunmen in two vehicles leaves one man shot dead in the head in a vacant lot.  Next, the General Hospital in Rosarito reports the arrival of one man shot three times in chest area; he had been dropped off by a yellow pick up truck which matches the description of one of the vehicles involved in the shoot out on the street.

 - Frontera reports across the road from us, the body of a man located inside of a blue pick up truck at Real Del Mar off of Blvd. Real del Mar, shot to death. Reuban reports he was outside working on his house when he heard the gunshots.

Encuentran a Hombre Sin Vida Dentro de Pickup en Real Del Mar

So, within about an eight mile radius of us there has been a lot activity.

 - The Beach Contamination:

The beaches of Baja Malibu, Playa Blanca & SADM are still officially closed due to contamination.
So, don't go in the water.  This report will give you a link from the PFEA of the health conditions of the beaches ; and I wanted to add that we are grateful for Frontera providing this information to the public:
