Awooga ! Awooga !

Over last weekend we noticed a Mexican Naval ship anchored out in front of the San Antonio Del Mar North Section. At one point it left for a few hours, but then returned to the same position.  Mike even brought the binoculars out to get a better look. We wondered what it was doing there thinking maybe it was a training exercise, then we thought maybe it was looking for a submarine loaded with dope.

Today in the Rivera section of Playas de Tijuana a make shift "submarine" fashioned from a surfboard with a double bottom, equipped with a small propeller connected to eight batteries used as a propulsion mechanism remotely controlled washed up on the shore and was located by local residents.  Inside, it contained twenty pounds of "crystal" valued at 100K dollars. Apparently it had taken on water, the current and waves pushed it to landfall. The reports indicate the dope was headed for the United States. There were no indications which cartel group owned the "submarine" or its contents.

Unknown if the Mexican Naval vessel exercise last weekend was for training or surveillance, or just a coincidence. "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds."  Well, not always - there have been huge seizures of dope by the Ejercito up and down the coast - I'll be back with those and we have had more beheadings with narco messages.  Two more as a matter of fact, which brings our yearly total of beheadings up to seven. Trying to finish some of these projects around here before the weather turns hot, sorry.
