Republican Convention - UPDATE - 08/26: Added Fact Check Of Noche Numero Dos - Kenosha in the Comments Section

I guess we have to talk about the Republican Convention - but the truth is, I did not watch it, I'm ridin with Biden, plus Nicky Haley gives me a blistering headache and Donald Junior is just plain weird. Anyone who shoots wild animals for play and sport is weird.

Plus, we're dealing with changing Mike's medication around, he is still in pain - the Doctor told him today, "Look, this was MAJOR  !"  So, he is going to work from home tomorrow and see how that goes. Luckily, it did cool down just a bit here with a nice breeze coming off the ocean and it is cooler tonight....although it is unclear if we are going to get hit with more horrible weather.  BTW, Governor Newsom, please send some crews down here and help these guys out, the A/C 's at both Tijuana General Hospital and also in Mexicali have not been working...since at least the 14th of this month.

So, once again  I'm not doing anything on the drug war here or the local COVID, so go here until I can catch up...note that I haven't seen anything locally about the American who vanished from Rosarito Beach several days ago, unless I missed it.

The RNC was was nothing more than a bunch of lies with the usual scares about communism by the Cuban and loss of freedoms.
The Trump family is disgusting. Melania's speech was long and rambling in her psuedo military outfit. If the black speakers think they would be on a Trump golf course and not be taken for caddy, they are fooling themselves. The whole production has been pathetic, only appealing to his ignorant base. Can't wait till these people are gone.

Yep...I was just reading over on the Times how a study done way back in 1968 showed that peaceful demonstrations helped the Dems; however violent protests hurt them. So, I'm watching the Kenosha events happening now and holding my breath - Democracy Now ! is covering ALL the recent protests related to the the Jacob Blake shooting...and it is terrifying that protestors are being targeted by "militia" white supremist groups or individuals. This of course also goes to show how bullshit Nikki whats her name was saying "America is not racist." I'm swamped here, but a bit later will add reports by Juan Cole.

Oh haha of course you heard that Trump said to call out the National Guard re Kenosha, a day late and a dollar short...they had already been called out. He's going to jump all over BLM and use this for his "law & order" platform...and people are going to believe him.

Scary. Take care. Oh wait, wait: and his BS performance this morning talking % acting as though he gives a shit about the hurricane hitting LA. Suddenly he cares.

Scary.

Look...this just in from ESPN; It's going to get nasty:

"LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- The Milwaukee Bucks' decision to boycott Game 5 of their first round playoff series against the Orlando Magic promoted the NBA to postpone all three games scheduled for Wednesday.

The NBA said the three Game 5s (Bucks-Magic, Houston Rockets-Oklahoma City Thunder, Los Angeles Lakers-Portland Trail Blazers) would be rescheduled.

"We're tired of the killings and the injustice," Bucks guard George Hill told ESPN's Marc Spears, in explaining his team's decision.

Milwaukee is about 40 miles north of Kenosha, Wisconsin, the city where 29-year-old Jacob Blake, a Black man, was shot seven times by police on Sunday, his father, also named Jacob Blake, has said. Blake was shot as he attempted to enter the driver's side door of his vehicle with three of his children inside. Video of the shooting was distributed on social media.

The Bucks, who were scheduled to play the Magic at AdventHealth Arena here inside the NBA's bubble at the Walt Disney World Resort at 4 p.m. ET on Wednesday, refused to leave their locker room before the game, as league officials huddled outside of it.

Some players, including center Brook Lopez, worked out before the game. But when it came time for the team to take the floor at around 15 minutes before tipoff, as is customary for an NBA game, only Orlando's players, as well as the referees working Wednesday's game, took the floor. There was no activity at all from Milwaukee's side of the court.

Then, with just a few minutes left on the game clock before the scheduled tip time, the Magic players slowly walked off the court and returned to their locker room, leaving only the four game referees out there. Eventually, Monty McCutchen, the NBA's vice president of refereeing and training, told them to leave the floor, as well.

Shortly thereafter, the game balls were removed, as were the various accessories on both sides -- like the name plates for each player's assigned seat and the cushions on which some of them sit -- were removed from each of the bench areas.

The only Bucks to leave the locker room at all were Hill and All-Star Khris Middleton, who used the bathroom and returned to it. There was also one member of the Milwaukee video staff that came out and gathered some computers and wires that were set up on the team's bench, and returned to the back of the arena.

After the Bucks made their decision to sit Wednesday, players from around the league tweeted their support. LeBron James tweeted in all capital letters: "F--- THIS MAN!!!! WE DEMAND CHANGE. SICK OF IT."

Others to tweet from inside the bubble included the Utah Jazz's Donovan Mitchell and the Denver Nuggets' Jamal Murray."

I do not know what will happen if Trump is re-elected, but it ain't going to be pretty.

No coverage locally of the GOP...or the latest Jacob Blake shooting by police.

Have to run.

Look...I TOLD YOU: From the Hill:

"President Trump on Wednesday said he would send federal officers to Kenosha, Wis., as the city grapples with unrest after the police shooting of Jacob Blake.

White House officials and Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers (D) spoke by phone, according to Trump, and the governor accepted federal assistance with responding to the increasingly volatile demonstrations in response to Blake's shooting.

"We will NOT stand for looting, arson, violence, and lawlessness on American streets," Trump tweeted.

"TODAY, I will be sending federal law enforcement and the National Guard to Kenosha, WI to restore LAW and ORDER!" he added.

Evers's office did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The governor had already activated the National Guard and tweeted late Tuesday that he planned to increase its presence "to ensure individuals can exercise their right safely, protect state buildings and critical infrastructure, and support first responders and fire fighters."

Blake was shot seven times in the back by police on Sunday in an incident that was captured on video. Blake's family says he is currently paralyzed from the waist down.

Protests have persisted for three days in response to Blake's shooting, and they have grown violent at times. Two people were killed and a third was injured in a shooting late Tuesday during the protests.

Police on Wednesday arrested a juvenile in connection with the two deaths.

GOP senator: Wisconsin governor should accept help from Trump to...

Blake's shooting is the latest instance this summer of police violence against a Black person. The killings of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and Rayshard Brooks have all contributed to calls for policing reform and protests against racial injustice.

Trump has condemned the Floyd killing specifically and signed a mostly toothless executive order on police reform. But he has pivoted over the last few months to take a harder tone against demonstrations, painting them with a broad brush to accuse protesters of rioting and violence.

The president has made enforcing law and order a major theme of his reelection campaign, warning that there will be chaos in the streets under a Joe Biden presidency even as the unrest plays out on Trump's watch. Trump has also accused Biden of wanting to "defund the police," something the former vice president has said he does not support."

and now, I am completely behind here...but Kenosha is going to be the catalyst for something really BAD & could very well work in Trump's favor.
